Windows XP has had a long run but sadly its reached the end of its Microsoft support cycle. Microsoft will be ending all support for Windows XP and Office 2003 on April 8th 2014. The operating system was originally launched back in 2001 following the short-lived Windows 2000.
If you’re still utilizing Windows XP and haven’t upgraded yet then you’re behind. Mainstream support for XP ended in 2009 and now the extended support still offered is coming to an end in 2014. This means there will be no more security updates, automatic fixes, or technical assistance. If you upgrade to Windows 8 you won’t have to worry about that support ending until 2023. The time to upgrade is now especially with Black Friday and Holiday special deals right around the corner.
